Position Summary:

We are seeking a School Clinical Social Worker (LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW) to work within our School-Based Health Division at Urban Health Plan. Our school health division spans across 12 locations, providing public school students with primary care, dental, and mental health services.

As the School Clinical Social Worker in this particular role- you will work in 2 Bronx-based campuses serving both Elementary and Middle School populations.

Within our school setting, you will provide support to students by way of behavioral health screenings, crisis intervention, and individual psychotherapy. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from Accredited Institution is required.
  • NYS Licensed LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing clinical therapy to school-aged populations and support services for their families (this role is not intended for someone who has yet to practice therapy with their license)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to identify high-risk psychosocial factors in patients and families that impact health status.
  • Established knowledge of clinical diagnoses and ability to diagnose and treat patients presenting with varied conditions.
  • Understanding of psychosocial stressors in communities.
  • Previous clinical experience serving transitional housing populations is a huge plus.

 

Key Duties:

  • Provides bio-psychosocial assessments and clinical diagnostic assessments.
  • Conducts individual psychotherapy and counseling services to children within public schools.
  • Maintains skills and knowledge in clinical theory and practice to help patients overcome dependencies, adjust to life, and make changes.
  • Provides counseling to family members to assist with understanding and supporting patients. 
  • Engages in crisis intervention when necessary and refers patients or family to community resources. 
  • Provides consultation to medical providers. Collaborates with physicians to develop and implement treatment and intervention programs. 
  • Participates in clinical team meetings.

 

Starting Compensation:  

Minimum $72,000 per year; Maximum $94,000 per year. Contingent on scope of licensure and years of experience practicing with license.

 

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Onsite, Bronx, NY, Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
