Operator – Wastewater Treatment Facility

We’re looking for a mechanically inclined individual to join our wastewater operations team. This temp-to-perm position offers hands-on experience, training, and the potential to grow into a certified operator role.

Key Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid driver’s license

• Mechanical and troubleshooting experience

• Familiarity with pumps, motors, valves, and related systems

• Basic understanding of lab testing and water treatment processes

• Ability to keep accurate records and perform data entry

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and ability to learn CMMS)

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems and related equipment

• Conduct sampling, testing, and log meter readings to ensure compliance

• Perform visual inspections of lagoons and treatment processes

• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment

• Monitor and inspect gauges, panels, compressors, and analyzers

• Keep the plant grounds and facilities clean and orderly

• Maintain records in accordance with permit and regulatory requirements

• Support Operator II with lagoon and buffer zone upkeep

• Follow safety rules and standard operating procedures

• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to after-hours issues when needed

Note: Starting pay is $20.00/hr (DOE). Additional certifications may increase starting wage
