Job Description

Who We're Looking For

Merit Manufacturing is looking for a hands-on, solutions-driven Warehouse Manager to lead our warehouse operations with precision, efficiency, and a strong sense of ownership. In this critical role, you'll manage a small but mighty team to ensure we're keeping things moving—from shipping and receiving, to inventory accuracy, to making sure our production team has everything they need to succeed.

You're going to be judged based on your ability to remember details in a way that scares everyone else. You're the person with a map of the warehouse and everything in it living in your head. You walk around the warehouse and you see things and immediately know someone missed doing their job correctly. You pull reports and you know when a transfer wasn't done right because you are hyper focused on the details.

We're going to ask you questions when we interview you to see how well you can remember details like numbers or bin locations.

You'll be responsible for streamlining our warehouse processes and championing improvements, including implementing systems like barcoding, scan guns, and other tools to increase speed and accuracy. This is a leadership role that requires both strategic oversight and the ability to jump in on a forklift when needed.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including outbound shipping, inbound receiving, staging, inventory movement, and cycle counts.
  • Lead and coach a warehouse team to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency across all warehouse functions.
  • Coordinate with the production team to stage and deliver components and materials needed for manufacturing each day.
  • Perform daily cycle counts and manage inventory integrity using our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and manage tools like barcode systems and scan guns to modernize and streamline operations.
  • Manage special warehouse improvement projects from planning to execution.
  • Communicate cross-functionally with purchasing, production, planning, and customer service to keep operations aligned.
  • Operate forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up models, to assist with staging, shipping, and receiving when needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.

Are you Qualified?

  • Proven experience managing a team, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in warehouse systems and experience with inventory management software (WMS preferred).
  • Familiarity with scan gun/barcode systems and a passion for process improvement.
  • Ability to operate forklifts (sit-down and stand-up); certification is a plus or willingness to become certified.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with other departments and lead a team.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-starter with a “get-it-done” attitude who's comfortable jumping in where needed.

Experience

3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
