Job Description

IT Systems Manager Location Washington, DC (Capitol Hill area) :

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an IT Systems Manager to join a Federal Program located in Washington, DC .

Responsibilities of the IT Systems Manager include:

Provides direct and indirect leadership, coaching, and training to systems professionals
Guides team members in meeting project timelines and resolving technical challenges
Monitors system performance and implements enhancements to improve reliability and efficiency
Develops, manages, and enforces schedules and performance benchmarks
Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and onboarding team members
Identifies opportunities to improve information systems and develops strategies to implement new technologies
Oversees the management of user accounts, system security, workflows, and secure connectivity
Administers and enforces all information systems policies, procedures, and governance standards

Qualifications for the IT Systems Manager include:

Extensive experience with VMware for virtualization deployment, management, and troubleshooting
Strong background in storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and enterprise backup (Commvault)
Proficient in Windows and Linux server environments
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Familiarity with virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V
Knowledge of database systems like SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
Strong grasp of IT security, compliance standards, and best practices
Experience applying ITIL frameworks and DevOps principles
Skilled in SLA/OLA management, Knowledge Management, Service Delivery, Continuous Improvement, and Problem Management

10+ years of experience in related field
Bachelor's degree required or years of experience in lieu of degree
Must have an Active Top Secret Clearance and/or Active Q Clearance

Compensation for the IT Systems Manager includes:

Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000 depending on experience
Comprehensive Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
