Responsibilities:

• Propose and develop innovative design solutions that convey a clear product message and establish a distinct brand identity, ensuring alignment with project prerequisites.
• Generate and explore creative ideas for product messaging through the creation of 2D and 3D concepts, including sketches, drawings, and visual artifacts.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary product design team, contributing to concept development and guiding projects from initial ideas through to production.
• Engage in both interior and exterior design processes, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to product design.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members, acting as a role model for lifelong learning and knowledge-sharing within the team.
• Share expertise and experience by training and coaching peers and junior designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• While deepening expertise in specific design disciplines, work towards building a broader T-shaped profile to enhance versatility and adaptability within design projects.
• Develop influence and work confidently within the broader Volvo Group network, collaborating with various stakeholders to align design objectives with organizational goals.
• Clearly articulate how individual contributions create value for the team and the organization, particularly in relation to the Technical Development (TD) and Business Area (BA) objectives.
• Utilize key design tools, including 2D and 3D sketching, Blender, Alias, and Keyshot, to produce high-quality design outputs and prototypes.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and solutions.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software and tools such as Blender, Alias, Keyshot, and other 2D/3D sketching applications is required.
• Strong creative thinking and problem-solving abilities demonstrated through the development of innovative design concepts.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively work within multidisciplinary teams and engage with various stakeholders.
• Mentorship Ability: Demonstrated experience in mentoring or coaching junior designers, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
• Ability to build a T-shaped skill set, combining deep expertise in specific design areas with a broader understanding of related disciplines.
• Proven ability to develop influence and establish a professional network within an organizational framework.
• Strong understanding of how design contributes to business value, with the ability to articulate this clearly to stakeholders.
• Submission of a comprehensive portfolio showcasing relevant work, design process, and final outcomes is mandatory for application consideration.
